Why do I need this course?
Some states require our responsible alcohol certification course as condition before allowed to sell or serve alcohol. These states include: Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, and Montana.
Our state alcohol certification courses teach you how to serve alcohol responsibly. We cover:
- The legal responsibilities of a server
- Specific state laws that affect you and the customer
- How to identify a fake ID and minors who might use them
- how to identify an intoxicated customer and intervention techniques when needed
- Tips training you on how to cut someone off effectively and without being condescending.

How do I get back to my course?
Click back to our homepage or use the Serving Alcohol icon to get back to our homepage. Click the Sign In button. Enter the email address you used to register and your password. If you have a Gmail address, use the Google Login option. You will need to know your Gmail password to use this function but it one less password to remember. After you are logged in, you'll see your course listed in blue . Click the link to re-enter your course.
I have completed the course, now what do I do?
Your certificate is offered immediately as an emailed PDF when complete. Check your email for the certificate. If the certificate is not in your inbox, check the spam or junk filter. If your state has more requirements, we try to put helpful information on the specific course information page. If you want to retrieve your certificate again, go to the Certificate Search and Validation web page here: https://Certificate.ServingAlcohol.com. Please go to the page for the course you completed and see if there is any additional information about your state. Generally, if your manager had requested that you take the course, give him or her your printed certificate or send them an email with your certificate attached as a PDF. What if I fail the test?
If you fail the exam, no worries. You can retake the test as many times as needed to pass. There is NO additional cost or fees. Some states will have restrictions on how many times you are allowed to retake the final exam. If you answer all the quiz questions throughout the course, you will have very little troubles passing the final exam the first time around. You use any computer, tablet, or mobile device (Windows, Macintosh, iPhone, iPad, Android based phone or tablet) with one of the following web browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, or Google Chrome connected to the internet with at least 56k dial-up speed. What if I have problems completing the course?
If you have any problems completing the course, please contact us and will help or we will refund your money. This is our "100% Pass or your money back" guarantee. Please do let us know of any problems. If you notify us of a problem, then we will fix and it and save others from experiencing the same problem.
My certificate shows up blank or doesn't look right ...
This might be the effect of an old Adobe Reader software. You might need to install the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader software. Our certificates are encrypted and require a recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader or full version. You can download and install the most recent version here for free: https://adobe.com/reader.
How do I get my certificate?
We have a page dedicated to searching for your certificate. Click here: View Certificate. If you had taken your course through Serving Alcohol, we should have it on file. If you had used another trainer, we will not have your certificate. If you used another trainer, an email from them should be in your email inbox. Please contact the last trainer to get your certificate.
Click on homepage or Serving Alcohol icon, select the Sign In button, and then enter your email and password into the Account Login box. Once you have logged in, you should see a link on the right hand side for View Certificate. You will be able to view your certificate and download it. We do offer various delivery options: email, fax, US Postal Service, or overnight FedEx.
I completed the course a while ago, do you still have my certificate?
Yes. We keep certificates at least as long as they are valid and some we keep longer. Click on our Contact Us page and send us an email to retrieve your certificate.
My name is spelled wrong on my certificate. How do I change it?
Let us know ASAP through our Contact Us web portal and send us a message. We will re-issue your certificate.
Only one email address can be used for each individual. Another person (spouse, family member, or friend) cannot take your course and get a certificate in their name. Each person MUST have their own individual email address to get certified. If you do not have an email, use our Contact Us page to tell us your phone number with a request to call. We will help you get certified ASAP.
