Home | Who We Serve | Alcohol, Food Safety & Hygiene Training for Convention Centers
Every Role. Every Event. One Certified Team.
A convention center changes shape every week. Monday it’s a medical expo, Friday it’s a wedding for 1,500, and Saturday it’s a ticketed festival with a dozen concession stands. Bars, banquet kitchens, VIP suites and food stalls can all run at the same time, staffed by a mix of permanent employees, seasonal hires and outside contractors.
That variety creates a lot of exposure. One sale to a minor, one over-served guest or one batch of improperly held food can lead to fines, lawsuits, a suspended license or a lost contract with an event organizer.
Serving Alcohol Inc. gives convention centers state-approved, 100% online training for alcohol service, food safety and hygiene. Staff can finish it on any device, and managers can track everything in one place. Below is what each part of your team needs.
These are the people pouring and selling alcohol every day. Our Responsible Alcohol Service courses teach them to:

A note on licensing: Rules for event venues are not the same everywhere. Some states let a venue or its caterer operate under one on-premise license. Others require separate temporary permits for each event or for outside vendors. Many require every person who sells or serves alcohol, including seasonal and contracted staff, to hold a valid server certification. We offer a dedicated course for each state where you operate.
Entrances are where underage guests, fake IDs and intoxicated re-entries get stopped. In many states, door and security staff are required to be certified, and in others it is strongly recommended. Training covers ID checking, handling a refusal calmly, and passing information to bar staff and managers so a cut-off holds across the whole venue.
Convention centers serve food at a scale few venues match hundreds of banquet plates, buffet lines, boxed lunches and fast-moving concession menus. Cooking in bulk, holding food for hours and serving it in short windows all raise the risk of foodborne illness.
Our Food Handler training helps your team:
Where our card is accepted: Our Food Handler certification is accepted in most states. It is not accepted in Alaska, Oregon, Utah and Washington, where cards must come from the local health authority. Some states, including Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio and Texas, have their own special requirements. Even in states that accept our card, certain counties and cities may have separate rules. Before enrolling staff, confirm the exact requirement for your location through our compliance team or Business Dashboard.
People who run bars, kitchens and event floors make the calls that matter most.

Do all my bar and event staff need alcohol server certification?
It depends on your state. In many states, anyone who sells, serves or delivers alcohol must be certified, including bartenders, banquet servers and concession staff. Some states also include security and ID-check staff. Check your state’s course page for exact rules.
Do outside caterers and contracted bartenders need certification too?
Often yes, but it depends on your state and on who holds the license for the event. Confirm with your liquor authority and write training responsibility into vendor contracts.
Do banquet and concession staff need food handler training?
In most states, yes. Anyone who handles food is usually covered, and requirements can differ by county, so verify for your location.
How long does certification take?
Most courses are self-paced and can be completed in under two hours, entirely online.
Can we train a large team before an event next week?
Yes. With a Business Account you can enroll groups in bulk and monitor progress.
How do we manage seasonal and rotating staff?
Use the Business Dashboard to enroll, track and download certificates for everyone in one place.
Whether you need to certify one new bartender or your entire banquet, concession, kitchen and security teams, Serving Alcohol Inc. makes it fast, affordable and aligned with your state’s requirements. Certify once, track everything in one place and walk into every event knowing your team is ready.
