UK Drivers May Face Zero Alcohol Limit

The reduction in the amount of alcohol that UK drivers can consume may drop even further than the reduction they already face. The limit was changed from 80mg to 50mg though Sir Peter North, the government advisor on alcohol limits, would like to see that number go lower. North has suggested that the limit go down to 20mg in the future. This amount is seen as banning any drinking before driving because it allows only for levels of alcohol that occur from a dose of cough medicine or mouthful of Communion wine. An official spokesperson has said “Just because we are looking at recommendations does not mean we will being them in.”
